Amazon Adds Ozempic to Kiosks With Same-Day Delivery
Amazon Pharmacy announced that it will stock the pill version of Ozempic for Type 2 diabetes treatment at its pharmacy kiosks across the United States. The company will also provide same-day delivery for eligible customers, expanding access to popular GLP-1 medications.
Ozempic contains the active ingredient semaglutide, which helps regulate blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 diabetes. Amazon has already been offering Wegovy since January and recently added Eli Lilly’s Foundayo weight-loss pill to its growing pharmacy lineup.
According to Amazon executives, the expansion reflects the company’s strategy to provide faster and more convenient access to modern healthcare treatments. The move also highlights the increasing consumer demand for GLP-1 medications used for both diabetes and weight management.
Amazon Expands Same-Day Delivery for Diabetes Medications
Amazon Pharmacy said nearly half of its U.S. customers currently have access to same-day medication delivery. The company plans to expand same-day Ozempic delivery availability from approximately 3,000 locations to 4,500 by the end of the year.
Customers with valid prescriptions can purchase the Ozempic pill through Amazon Pharmacy for $149 per month when paying cash. Insured customers may qualify for prices as low as $25 depending on their healthcare plans and coverage.
Amazon stated that the company aims to simplify medication access while helping patients receive treatments more quickly. The pharmacy expansion also supports Amazon’s broader healthcare ambitions in digital medicine and remote patient convenience.
Pharmacy Kiosks Target Faster and Easier Access
Amazon introduced pharmacy kiosks to reduce shipping costs and eliminate barriers to medication access. The kiosks currently focus on commonly used medications such as antibiotics, blood pressure treatments, asthma inhalers, and now GLP-1 diabetes medications.
Unlike injectable versions of GLP-1 drugs, the Ozempic pill does not require refrigeration, making it suitable for kiosk storage and pickup. Amazon currently stocks Wegovy pills at several kiosk locations inside One Medical facilities in California.
Patients can access the pharmacy kiosks without purchasing a One Medical membership. However, Amazon continues promoting its One Medical healthcare platform, which offers primary and urgent care services through an annual subscription model.

Amazon Strengthens Healthcare and Delivery Strategy
The latest pharmacy expansion reflects Amazon’s growing investment in healthcare and nationwide logistics. Last year, the company invested more than $4 billion to expand delivery infrastructure and improve service coverage in smaller towns and rural communities.
Amazon has steadily increased its presence in the healthcare industry since launching GLP-1 medication delivery services in 2021. The company continues competing with traditional pharmacies by focusing on convenience, affordability, and faster fulfillment options.
As demand for diabetes and weight-loss medications rises, Amazon’s same-day delivery strategy could reshape how patients access prescription treatments in the future. The company’s continued expansion into healthcare services positions it as a major player in digital pharmacy and medical retail innovation.
